A former British soldier turned technologist, I work for Rubrik as an SE covering Western EMEA. We make backup, recovery, and data management solutions for the cloud datacentre. Traditionally that’s a very unsexy topic, but we make it sexy, and more importantly not suck.
I’ve spent 15 years in IT (including a 4 year “tactical pause” in the British Army - where I did not do IT) doing the usual career progression from internal support to solutions architecture (via a dev role, consultancy, and a sysadmin role), and have spent the last 8 years or so specialising in storage and virtualisation. Today my primary interest and expertise revolves around storage, converged infrastructure, and cloud.
Over the past couple of years I have been recognised by VMware and Cisco as a #vExpert (2015,2016,2017) and #CiscoChampion (2015,2016,2017) for Datacenter, respectively, apparently because I make a lot of noise on Twitter, and in 2014 was asked by NetApp to join the NetApp advocacy program (#NetAppATeam).
If you want to get in touch with me you’re most likely to get a response on the Twitters (@mo6020), or come and find me presenting at a VMUG or event near you.
Standard disclaimer around opinions being mine and not those of my employer, etc, etc…
