So I’m super excited and honoured to be invited to Storage Field Day 11 (#SFD11) as a delegate. I’ve spent the last few years watching these events and looking up to the delegates as not only really smart guys, but also people with their “finger on the pulse” of the storage and wider tech industry, so I feel really priviledge to be asked to attend.
The Field Day kicks off on the 4th of October with a delegates dinner, but the real meat of the event runs from Wednesday the 5th through to Friday the 7th. We’ll be taken to the HQ of each of the events sponsors and they’ll give us all a technical deep-dive on their products. This will be interactive (meaning that we’ll ask the tough questions), and they’ll also be live-streamed on YouTube and the Tech Field Day website.
The sponsors for this iteration of SFD are the following vendors:
From the a delegates perspective, there are some real industry luminaries attending, the majority of which I have not met in person before, so I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone in “meatspace”.
If you’re interested in storage you should really follow all these guys, as they’re good value for money:
- Alastair Cooke
- Chris Evans
- Dave Henry
- Dukagjin Maloku
- James Green
- Jon Klaus
- Max Mortillaro
- Scott D. Lowe
- Sean Thulin
- W. Curtis Preston
As mentioned above, all the presentations will be live streamed, and please get involved on Twitter with the #SFD11 hashtag.
Seeing as I’m at NetApp Insight the week before this event, I’m expecting to be completely toasted by the end of the 2 weeks, but it’ll be a wild ride, that’s for sure.
